Paper 1 – Socialization & the Self

the teacher wants a personal essay. my background is terrible. I was beaten as a child by my addicted parents both meth and alcohol. I was raped by my first crush when I was 12. I became an outcast and drank heavily until I was 17. I was angry at the world. I had 2 daughters young with a man 12 years older than me. he was also a drug addict. I left him after 4 years and spiraled a little out of control while my family helped me with my kids. I became a can and allowed lots of people. I met the man I am with today at a friend's wedding and have a son with him now. I do everything for other people openly and wholeheartedly. I work in social work now and am pursuing a degree in social work.
