I am looking for an experienced electronics engineer to review, correct, and complete a PCB design for a Remote Battery Monitoring System. I have drawn a schematic in KiCad as a hobbyist, but it requires a full professional review. You may use KiCad or any other EDA tool you prefer.
The board integrates a Particle Boron 404X LTE module and is designed to manage two 12 V battery banks, switch between them, and report voltage, current, and environmental data to the cloud.
Key Requirements
• Battery Switching & Relays
o Two 12 V battery banks with automatic or manual switching.
o Latching relays so the last state is maintained if the board fails.
o Modes: Bank 1, Bank 2, or Parallel.
• Monitoring
o Voltage dividers with MOSFET control.
o INA260 for current monitoring (I²C).
o Two BME280 sensors for temperature/humidity (connected via screw terminals, Cat6 cable).
o Load output up to 3 A @ 12 VDC (via Wago 2604-3102).
• Power
o Boron powered either by dual 18650 cells (Li+ pin) or via a 5 V regulator (OKI-78SR) from the batteries.
o Two switches allow selection of power source. Both off = system off. Both on = Boron manages automatically.
o Monitoring supply should not drain the primary batteries.
• Mechanical
o PCB size approx. 120 × 75 mm.
o Particle Boron mounted on header socket.
o Battery and load connections via Wago 2604-3102 screw terminals.
o BME280 sensors connected via 4-pin screw terminals.
Deliverables
• Reviewed and corrected schematic.
• PCB layout and routing.
• BOM with readily available parts.
• Fabrication files (Gerbers, drill, pick-and-place).
• Clear labeling of connectors, test points, and mounting holes.
