Big Data Developer - Software Engineer

Weekly retainer support fee paid including additional hourly rate.


We are seeking an online Big Data Developer - Software Engineer to be responsible for managing data solutions including 300 million vehicle records. They will be required to provide support services for existing database, develop, improve and maintain the database which stores text and images. Must have experience with Microsoft SLQ Server Management Studio. This qualified person must have a minimum experience of 5 years managing big data.

This is an online position.


Tasks:
• Update or create data migration systems
• Analyse/create/modify conversion scripts and stored procedures
• Participate in long-term systems architecture planning
• Create/modify tools and scripts for data extraction/conversion
• Create and configure a web server to store and retrieve images
• Create queries and search functions
• Integrating data collection and provide reporting
• Implement strategy for analytics
• Making sure delivery is of the finest quality
• Investigate issues
• Make continuous improvements and innovation initiative updates based on new data or needs
• Work closely with Product Owner

Requirements:
• Strong experience with Microsoft SLQ Server Management Studio
• 5+ years experience in database engineering/development/administration
• SQL programming and scripting language skills
• Experience troubleshooting database and connection issues
• Strong data manipulation skills, including analysis of data structures
• Experience with Power BI and /or alternative business intelligence tools/software
• Ability to quickly stage & shape data from data sources into reporting and analytics solutions
• Deep understanding of database fundamentals, including relational database design, multidimensional database design
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to work independently whilst multitasking across a range of data & reporting issues
