Generate certificate with special properties in smallstep CLI

I need someone who knows can build a https://smallstep.com/ certificate template and generate a digital certificate x.509 that is similar to one that I have on file from another CA. I'll be looking for the template & the CLI commands that are used to build the certificate so I can generate them myself moving forward. Thank you.
