Irish Company Seek Experienced Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper Required – Irish Business (Carpentry, Café, IT) – Ongoing Weekly Work

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage ongoing bookkeeping tasks across multiple areas (carpentry, café, and IT) under 1 ltd company. This is an ongoing role with weekly tasks and bi-monthly VAT preparation requirements.

Experience in reporting and tracking IT expenses to help us improve our profit per client. Getting information on costs to each IT client and reporitng our margins on each client would also be a bonus

Key Responsibilities:

Uploading and posting supplier invoices weekly

Matching invoices to purchase orders and payments

Performing regular bank reconciliations

Checking monthly profit and loss for each business area

Preparing accurate VAT reports for bi-monthly submission (our accountants will file the VAT return)

Maintaining organised records and ensuring compliance with Irish bookkeeping standards

Liaising with us on missing documents or discrepancies

Monitoring expenses and identifying potential issues

Requirements:

Proven experience working with Irish clients

Strong knowledge of Irish VAT rules, bookkeeping standards, and tax compliance

Experience preparing VAT returns for Irish businesses

Proficiency with Sage One / Sage Accounting (cloud version)

Strong English – written and spoken

Ability to work independently and maintain deadlines

High attention to detail with accuracy in data entry

Experience handling multi-business bookkeeping is preferred

Ability to provide weekly updates and monthly summaries

Must be reliable, organised, and able to start quickly

Nice to Have (Not Essential):

Experience with café or hospitality bookkeeping

Understanding of construction/carpentry invoicing and cost tracking

Ability to assist in improving bookkeeping processes

Workload:

A few hours per week

Extra hours at month-end and VAT periods (every 2 months)
