WordPress to React Migration

We’re migrating an existing WordPress website to a modern React frontend and need an experienced Backend Engineer to handle the backend transition. You’ll work alongside a React developer to design and deliver a secure, high-performance, API-driven backend—ideally using Cloudflare Workers and related serverless technologies.

Responsibilities

- Audit the current WordPress backend (data structures, plugins, and custom code).
- Design and implement a new backend using Cloudflare Workers, KV/Durable Objects, or a suitable alternative (e.g., Node.js/Express, headless CMS).
- Build secure APIs for authentication, content delivery, and form handling.
- Migrate data (pages, posts, media, forms) from WordPress.
- Integrate backend with CRM and existing systems.
- Ensure compliance with data-protection standards.
- Deploy and document the new backend for handover.

Requirements

- Proven experience with serverless architectures (Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda, etc.).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare KV, Durable Objects, or R2.
- Experience integrating with modern React frontends.
- Prior CMS migration experience (WordPress → modern stack) preferred.
