PDF page number fix
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
We would like to get help/estimates for how to solve a meta data challenge.
We are working with a lot of PDF documents and would like to be able to see the number of pages in each file in a list view, eg. Windows file explorer or a Sharepoint list or similar. In this business, the number of pages says quite a lot of the content so we would really value to have that info without having to open up every file. We need to be able to sort and filter on the number of pages in the list view. Then we would not need to open each file and save seconds for every file. This would save many hours in total.
We are open to several solutions such as simple local scripts, plugins, RPA, Microsoft Power Automate/Apps, Sharepoint or whatever smart and suitable solution you can think of. Need to work in a PC/Windows environment
Option 1: Display file page number in list view
Each PDF has the meta data for page numbers, but it is not displayed in the Windows file explorer (seems to only show page numbers for MS Word files). We would like to populate a sortable list view with the pdf page numbers. It does not have to be in Windows File Explorer, could also be a Sharepoint list or any other solution as long as we can perform the basic operations like sort, select multiple files, open, and delete from that view.
Option 2 (advanced): Display main document page count in list view
Most of the files actually consists of a main document and some attachments, but the first page holds the most important page numbering. See picture below where the whole file is 52 pages, but the first page shows that the main document is only 7 pages. We would like that information to be extracted and displayed in a list view similar to option 1. This is naturally a more complex operation and might require some process automations and machine learning functions – but it would be very helpful.
Please estimate and explain both solutions if possible, we will then decide which option to go with. Otherwise one option is fine.
