MonzaRoom.com Development: Improve and Expand
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
Project Description
We are rebuilding MonzaRoom.com from scratch as a clean, stable, and scalable web application. MonzaRoom is a room and short-stay booking marketplace (conceptually similar to Airbnb, but focused on rooms).
An earlier version exists, but we have decided not to reuse the old codebase. It may be referenced for business logic only. This project is a fresh rebuild with a clear architecture, strong foundations, and long-term maintainability.
This is not a design contest or a quick MVP. We are looking for a developer who can build a solid core platform and continue working with us as the project evolves.
Technical Stack (Required)
Frontend: Next.js (React)
Backend: Supabase (Auth, Database, Storage)
Hosting: Vercel
Styling: Tailwind CSS or clean modern CSS
Version Control: Git (GitHub or similar)
Phase 1 – Core Foundation (Initial Scope)
The first phase is focused on correctness and stability, not visual polish.
Authentication & Roles
User signup / login
Role system: Guest, Host, Admin
Secure session handling
Database & Structure
Well-designed schema (users, listings, bookings)
Clear relationships and constraints
Scalable structure for future features
Listings
Hosts can create and manage room listings
Upload images (Supabase storage)
Basic pricing and availability fields
Bookings
Guests can view listings and request/book rooms
Booking records stored correctly
Admin visibility of all bookings
Admin Access
Admin can view users, listings, and bookings
Basic moderation controls
Deployment
Clean environment variable setup
Proper production deployment on Vercel
Stable, documented setup
Future Phases (Later Work)
These are not required in phase 1, but the architecture must allow for them:
Payments (Stripe)
Email notifications
Calendar availability
Reviews and ratings
Improved UX/UI
Performance optimisation
How We Want to Work
Payment type: Hourly (with clear weekly limits)
Approach: Build in small, testable steps
Communication: Clear explanations, no guesswork
Code quality: Clean, readable, documented where needed
We value developers who explain decisions and raise concerns early rather than rushing.
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience with Next.js and Supabase
Experience building marketplaces, booking platforms, or SaaS apps
Ability to design a clean architecture from scratch
Comfortable taking ownership of a project
Good communication in English
When Applying, Please Include
Examples of similar projects (marketplaces, booking systems, SaaS)
Your experience with Supabase
How you would approach phase 1 of this rebuild
Whether you are open to ongoing work after launch
Budget
Initial phase budget: £250–£750
