Gaming Matchmaking Web App Development

I'm looking to create a web-based gaming matchmaking application. The app should feature:
- Game-based matchmaking to connect players based on their preferred games.
- Custom user profiles where users can list their preferences, gaming stats, and avatars.
- A robust text chat system for communication.
- The ability for users to send and accept friend requests (maybe; I'm thinking this app will be more of a one off kinda thing as far as matching goes, not sure yet).
Ideal skills for this project include experience in web application development, expertise in creating matchmaking algorithms, and proficiency in implementing user-friendly interfaces and chat systems. Familiarity with gaming communities or platforms is a plus.
