Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced backend developer to build a production-grade backend system from scratch using either Spring Boot (preferred) or Node.js. The backend will power a mobile and web-based platform with role-based user access and includes API development, database modeling, authentication, and integrations.
Responsibilities
Design and implement RESTful APIs for multi-role application
Build robust data models and schema for PostgreSQL
Develop secure authentication and authorization systems (OTP login, role-based access control)
Integrate third-party services: payment gateways, notification systems
Implement unit and integration tests for all endpoints
Write clear API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI
Optimize API performance, handle concurrency and transactional logic
Deploy services to production using AWS or other cloud platforms
Collaborate with frontend developers for contract-first integration
Maintain Git-based source control and CI/CD workflows
Required Skills
Core Backend Development:
Strong experience with Spring Boot (Java) or Node.js with Express.js
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB
Deep understanding of REST API architecture
Implementation of authentication flows (OTP, token-based, Firebase or custom)
Experience with role-based access control (RBAC)
Familiarity with API security best practices (input validation, encryption, secure headers)
Integrations and Tools:
Payment Gateway Integration (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe)
Push Notification Integration (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging)
Email/SMS integration (e.g., Twilio, AWS SES)
API testing with Postman or similar tools
API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI
Testing & DevOps:
Writing and maintaining unit tests and integration tests
Version control using Git and GitHub
Basic deployment and infrastructure setup using AWS EC2, S3, RDS
CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tools
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of professional backend development experience
Experience building scalable backend systems with high API concurrency
Familiarity with Redis for caching or queueing mechanisms
Exposure to load testing tools such as JMeter or Locust
Knowledge of containerization using Docker
