Senior Backend Architect / System Stabilization Engineer (Long-Term Opportunity)

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer/architect to potentially take over and stabilize a large-scale multi-role media/content platform that already has a substantial frontend completed.

This is NOT a beginner project.
This is NOT a simple CRUD SaaS.
We need someone capable of thinking in systems, security, infrastructure, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

Current Project Status
- Frontend/UI is heavily built already
- Multi-role platform architecture exists
- Routing/RBAC/frontend wiring already implemented
- Existing backend foundation exists but requires auditing, stabilization, cleanup, and continued development
- Project includes complex role systems, subscriptions, analytics, content workflows, moderation systems, and monetization infrastructure
- Long-term roadmap already planned

Budget
- Current backend phase budget is under $1600
- This is a large long-term project with ongoing work for the right person
- Looking for quality, architecture thinking, and reliability over speed

The budget for this phase is very specific, but this can lead to long-term work across multiple projects for the right developer.

We are also looking for someone interested in ongoing maintenance/stability work after launch. Every completed app/project will require a mandatory 30-day maintenance period after delivery to address bugs, stabilization, deployment issues, and post-launch fixes before any long-term retained maintenance agreement begins.

After the 30-day maintenance period, continued paid long-term maintenance/support opportunities may be offered based on performance, reliability, communication, and overall system quality.

What We Need
We are looking for someone who can:
- audit an existing backend/infrastructure
- identify architectural weaknesses
- stabilize production systems
- improve scalability and security
- continue backend development cleanly
- enforce proper RBAC/permission systems
- improve deployment workflows
- document systems clearly for long-term maintainability

- Redis / BullMQ
- Stripe subscriptions + webhooks
- Cloudflare R2 / S3-style storage
- Twilio integrations
- SendGrid/email systems
- JWT auth systems
- RBAC / permissions architecture
- queue workers/background jobs
- infrastructure monitoring/logging
- API security
- webhook replay protection
- rate limiting/idempotency
- audit logs

You will likely be reviewing another developer’s existing backend work, so experience inheriting/refactoring/stabilizing existing systems is VERY important.

We are NOT looking for:
- “feature patchers”
- copy/paste developers
- people who only know frontend
- people who cannot explain architecture decisions
- people who disappear during infrastructure issues
- do not need you relying on AI

This is long term work I will be asking questions being vague not wanting to answer etc don’t even waste your time

This can turn into a long-term lead backend role for the right person.
