Backend Developer Needed – Card Issuance & Ledger Platform (Java / Spring Boot)
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We’re building a backend system for a virtual card issuing and ledger tracking platform. The product allows merchants to issue virtual cards to users, fund accounts, and track all transactions through a secure, auditable ledger.
We are looking for a skilled backend developer who can own core backend services and API design. This is a project involving modern architecture, event-driven processing, and third-party integrations.
What You’ll Be Working On:
• Merchant onboarding (registration, login)
• Cardholder management
• Virtual card issuance APIs (mock bank integration for now)
• Wallet funding and balance tracking
• Ledger API to log all transactions (debits, credits)
• Spending limit validation logic
• Transaction processing via events (Kafka or similar)
Skills Required:
• Java + Spring Boot (advanced level from day 1)
• REST API development and testing
• PostgreSQL or other SQL databases
• Kafka/Event-driven system understanding
• Modular, maintainable code practices
• CI/CD and containerized deployments

• Experience building ledger or transaction systems
• Familiarity with card issuance concepts
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Web3 or crypto infrastructure knowledge (for future roadmap)
Note:
• KYC and actual bank API integrations will be added later (mocked initially)
• Deployment will be private and containerized
• Integration with an existing frontend (not building UI)
