UI/UX Specialist (Product Designer) — B2B SaaS (Law.ai)

Job ID: 40101478

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

UI/UX Specialist (Product Designer) — B2B SaaS (Law.ai)

Type: Contract (20–30 hrs/week) • Remote (US preferred)
Tools: Figma required (wireframes → prototypes → handoff)

Bonus domain fit: legal tech, fintech, healthcare, insurance, or other trust-based / sensitive-data products

About Law.ai:
Law.ai is building the AI-native “front door” to legal—instant guidance, guided intake, and matching people to the right lawyer. This is a two-sided product with user flows (people seeking help) and lawyer flows (firms accepting and converting qualified matters).

What you’ll own:
You will design/re-design and document the end-to-end user journeys + screens for both sides of the marketplace:
+ User journey: question → guided intake → match → consult booking/next steps → follow-up
+ Lawyer journey: onboarding → lead intake/review → accept/decline → respond → convert → measure ROI
You’ll do this by creating flows and prototypes in Figma (collaborative design + prototyping is core to the role).

Responsibilities:
+ Map and optimize user + lawyer flows: task flows, edge cases, routing, and friction points (with clear assumptions and success metrics).
+ Design IA + core screens: navigation, layout, form-heavy intake, dashboards, lead views, settings, permissions.
+ Prototype in Figma: clickable, realistic flows suitable for quick internal review and usability testing.
+ Design for trust: clarity, transparency, and reassurance cues where users share sensitive information or make high-stakes decisions.
+ Usability testing (lightweight but consistent): rapid tests on key onboarding/intake steps; iterate weekly.
+ Create a lightweight design system: reusable components, states, and interaction patterns for speed and consistency.
+ Partner with founders + devs + GTM team: translate flows into build-ready specs, acceptance criteria, and handoff notes.

What success looks like (first 30–45 days):
+ Two complete flow maps (User + Lawyer) with measurable funnel steps and key failure points identified.
+ Core screens designed + prototyped in Figma for the “happy path” plus top edge cases.
+ Reduced friction in onboarding/intake (fewer steps, clearer copy, better progress signaling), aligned to onboarding best practices that improve activation and retention.

Requirements:
+ 3 or more years designing B2B SaaS products (or equivalent depth of work shown in portfolio).
+ Expert Figma: components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and organized files for team collaboration.
+ Strong ability to design workflow-heavy experiences (multi-step flows, roles/permissions, structured forms).
+ Demonstrated skill in information architecture + interaction design (not just visual polish).
+ Comfort designing in trust / compliance-adjacent contexts (clear language, guardrails, error states, confirmations).
+ Portfolio showing end-to-end ownership: problem → flow → UI → iteration → outcomes.

Nice-to-haves:
+ Legal tech experience (law firm software, intake, lead routing, practice management)
+ Experience designing for sensitive data (identity, health, finance, regulated marketplaces)
+ Familiarity with accessibility fundamentals and usability heuristics
