Azure AD Licensing Expert Needed for Azure AD Join Implementation

- Current Usage: Not currently using Azure AD
- Preferred Implementation Method: Cloud only

We are seeking an Azure AD Licensing Expert to assist with our Azure AD join implementation. Our specific issue involves user licensing for Azure AD join. We are not currently using Azure AD, but we have chosen the preferred implementation method of cloud only.
Have 16 business basic license users and 8 business standard license users.
have 6 desktops and would like any user to login to that desktops using their own credentials. Does joining desktop to azure ad needs license? I think we do not need just to join Azure AD.
