Conference Sound Setup & Support
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I’m hosting a conference with tow side rooms that each seat 50-100 guests and need a seasoned sound technician who can take ownership of the entire audio chain for those two rooms. Your first task will be arriving ahead of doors-open to set up the PA, wireless microphones and any playback feeds; once the meeting begins, I’ll rely on you to run the system smoothly and jump on any hums, feedback or cable issues before they become noticeable. Live mixing is minimal—presenters will mainly speak from the lectern—but steady monitoring and rapid troubleshooting are essential to keep every word crisp for both the in-room audience and the recording feed. Both rooms will also have a screen for presentation decks.
The rooms both have speakers and we will need up to 5 handheld mics for each for the panel speakers, so feel free to flag if you have this equipment or if we need to rent / purchase it. After the sessions wrap up, I’ll need a clean strike and hand-over to the venue.
If you have a track record with conferences of a similar scale and can bring a calm, professional presence, I’d love to hear how you’d tackle the setup and what you typically carry in your toolkit.
