Experimental Short Film, Sound-Driven Edit

Job ID: 39910516

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

The footage for my short film is ready and I’m looking for an editor who thrives on experimentation and knows how to let sound lead the story. Picture editing still matters, but the heartbeat of this piece is its sonic landscape—atmospheres, textures, abrupt cuts, and intentional silence that steer the viewer’s emotions more than dialogue ever could.

Here’s what I need from you:
• A picture edit that embraces an experimental structure—non-linear pacing, unexpected juxtapositions, unconventional transitions.
• A sound-first approach: layered effects, original sound design, and seamless integration of the score so the audio drives the rhythm.
• Delivery of a locked picture plus separate audio stems and a full-resolution master export in common festival formats (ProRes 422 HQ and H.264).
• A project file (Premiere Pro, Resolve, or Avid—your choice) with organized bins/tracks so I can reference every decision later.

Rough cut length will be under 15 minutes. I’ll supply all footage, scratch audio, and reference tracks via a shared drive. After your first pass we’ll schedule a remote review, then one round of revisions before final delivery.

If experimental storytelling and meticulous sound design fire you up, let’s collaborate and make something unforgettable.
