2D Animation (Loops, Sequences) Needed for DJ Visualizer Project
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Hello! My name is John and I am an electronic music DJ and producer in search of an animator/studio to create scenes that will be used for a visualizer in a large project. More specifically, I have recorded a live performance lasting an hour and 44 seconds (1:00:44 total length) that I would like to release paired with an 2D-animated, story-based visualizer (do not panic at the length, much of the visualizer will be looped sections, but it will still be a longer/bigger project in its entirety). This is where you come in!
Optimally, I’m looking for animation in a 16:9 aspect ratio at around 12 frames per second. I am welcoming all styles to apply, but priority may be given to those that specialize in pixel art replication or anime styles. Many (if not all) animations/loops require beatmatching (in time with music provided), so experience with music video animation is a big plus. Both character (people, animals, robots) and environmental animation is required (static vistas with select moving components).
All details (including audio source material, a brand moodboard, aesthetic guide/aspiring style of the project, characters, environments, visual references, and detailed script) can be obtained via messaging me directly/submitting an offer.
Overall, the world/aesthetic of this story is based on medieval role-playing games/2D side scroller video games. I’m imagining a bright, colorful world centered around nostalgia, channeling the fun (and grit) of adventure.
In my most ideal world where I get to fund every loop and make the project exactly how I'd like it, the visualizer created would comprise of around nine (9) main loops clocking in at less than 1 minute for each, acting almost like sections of the mix (some will be as short as 10-15 seconds depending). In addition to these loops, there are around seven (7) scenes/sequences ranging from static, panned frames to longer animations (again, all details of scene concepts can be sent over per request). However, some scenes (including loop and sequence length) may simply be cut for budget.
I would like to schedule an initial call before hiring to discuss the animation required/possible for this project and make adjustments where necessary. In addition to these items, I would also like to discuss rough scheduling and cost. I am in US Eastern Standard Time and am available weekdays 12-1PM, 5:30-10PM, or anytime on weekends. Please reach out and let's set up a meeting to discuss the finer details. Message me privately, and I can also provide my Discord for additional contact.
Here's the tough part: I have set the budget of this project at around $1000, as I am a small artist with tighter finances. However, I have a vision and a determination to try and see this project to fruition, so I am willing to negotiate prices and timelines. I recognize this is a huge, huge job for a single artist or small studio, but I’d love to make something work (as a musician, visual art is not my specialty, so feel free to reach out simply with advice, suggestions, or possible contacts as well)!
Show me your worth and lend me your time and I’d be more than happy to discuss adjustments to make this vision come to life. If all goes well, I will have more work opportunities in the future.
Please send over a portfolio with related animation and work. Thank you, and I look forward to working with you! :)
