Online Used Car Research Specialist

Job ID: 40615952

Budget: £10 – £20 GBP

I am looking for a skilled online researcher to find underpriced used cars in the UK that I can buy and resell for a quick profit.

This is a commission-only role.

You will receive 20% of the net profit on any vehicle that I purchase through your lead and later sell at a profit.

What I want:

I am mainly looking for cars that are:

- Underpriced for the market
- HPI clear
- Listed with poor photos
- Written up with weak or careless descriptions
- Being overlooked by other buyers because the advert is bad
- Easy to improve with better photos and a better listing
- Able to benefit from a professional valet, deep clean or minor cosmetic improvement
- Likely to sell quickly once presented properly

The ideal opportunity is a decent car with a poor advert, where the main value is being missed because of bad presentation rather than major faults.

Your responsibilities:

- Search Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, eBay Motors, Auto Trader and similar UK platforms
- Find cars priced below market value
- Prioritise listings with poor photos and poor descriptions
- Compare each vehicle with similar cars for sale
- Check HPI status, MOT history, mileage, advisories and general vehicle details
- Estimate a realistic buy price, resale price and likely profit
- Identify cars that can be improved through valeting, cleaning and better presentation
- Flag cars that can be turned around quickly
- Send strong opportunities as soon as possible before they are gone

For each car, provide:

- Listing link
- Registration number
- Make, model and year
- Mileage
- Asking price
- Suggested offer price
- Estimated resale price
- HPI status
- MOT expiry and advisories
- Known or likely faults
- Estimated repair or preparation costs
- Estimated net profit
- Reason it is underpriced
- Reason it has resale potential
- Notes on how the poor listing could be improved

Priority vehicles:

- HPI-clear vehicles
- Popular, easy-to-sell UK cars
- Cars with clean enough condition to flip quickly
- Cars that mainly need valeting, cleaning or minor cosmetic work
- Cars needing better presentation rather than major repair
- Listings with dark, blurry or limited photos
- Listings with vague, lazy or badly written descriptions

Avoid:

- Cars that are not HPI clear
- Serious engine or gearbox problems
- Structural damage
- Category vehicles
- Cars with heavy electrical issues
- Problem cars that will sit for too long
- Deals where profit depends on major repairs

Commission terms:

- No upfront payment
- 20% of net profit
- Net profit means final sale price minus purchase price and direct costs
- Direct costs include repairs, transport, checks, valeting, cleaning, parts and advertising
- Commission is paid only after the vehicle is sold and profit is made
- No commission is due if I do not buy the car or if there is no profit
- Commission applies only if you were the first to submit that vehicle to me

Example:

- Purchase price: £2,000
- Direct costs: £300
- Sale price: £3,500
- Net profit: £1,200
- Your commission: £240

To apply:

Send one real example of a UK used car that fits this brief.

Include:

- Listing link
- Why it is underpriced
- What is wrong with the advert
- What cleaning, valeting or presentation improvements it needs
- What you think it could sell for with better photos and a better listing
- Estimated net profit

Generic applications will be ignored.
