Project Overview:

We are developing an advanced automotive braking system and need an Electronics Engineer with atleast 5+ years of experience to create both the schematic and the PCB layout using KiCad. The design will involve integrating sensors, control circuitry, and power management into a compact, reliable, and production-ready board. We are a European company and are primarily looking for a partner and a trusted consultant (possibly a long term partner if the design is well made).

Responsibilities:
- Develop a complete schematic based on system requirements
- Select appropriate components for control, sensing, and power electronics
- Design a professional-grade 2-layer PCB layout in KiCad (optimized for noise immunity and reliability)
- Generate fabrication and assembly outputs (Gerber, drill files, BOM, pick-and-place, etc.)
- Ensure design meets best practices for EMI/EMC and industrial safety
- Document the design for handoff to fabrication and assembly teams

Requirements:
- Proven experience with KiCad (schematic + PCB layout)
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, serial communication protocols, power electronics, sensors, and actuator control
- Experience with industrial or automotive-grade PCB design
- Knowledge of signal integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC considerations
- Ability to deliver production-ready KiCad files and documentation
- Ready to communicate through live meetings with audio and video

Deliverables:
- KiCad project files (schematic + PCB layout)
- Gerber files, NC drill files ready for fabrication
- Bill of materials (BOM)
- Assembly files and documentation
- Circuit simulation and validation in KiCad

Confidentiality:
Selected freelancers will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before receiving detailed system specifications and requirements. All design files and documentation created during the project will remain the property of our company.

Nice to Have:
- Prior experience designing for automotive or industrial automation systems
- Circuit simulation and validation in KiCad or external tools
- Familiarity with relevant safety/industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC)
