Wim'"s Wine Cellar
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I need a single Google Sheets file that can comfortably hold details for roughly 1,200 bottles and let me treat the sheet as both a catalogue and an active cellar-management tool.
Core layout
The main sheet should already contain the following columns in this exact order so I can paste or import old data without editing headings:
ID, Producer, Wine Name, Vintage, Type, Grape(s), Region, Country, Alcohol %, Bottle Size, Quantity, Storage Location, Purchase Date, Purchase Price, Drinking Window Start, Drinking Window End, Status, Personal Rating, Reviews & Notes, Label Photo, Last Updated.
Key functions I’m after
• A clean pop-up (Apps Script) data-entry form that writes directly to the next empty row and time-stamps Last Updated automatically.
• Easy sorting and filtering by winery, grape, vintage, red/white/sparkling/other, rating, best-drinking window, quantity on hand, and a series of critic scores I track (Halliday, Hook, RP, Larkin, plus “My Score” and “Others”).
• Dropdown or other validation where it makes sense (Type, Bottle Size, Country, Status) so data stays tidy, but keep free-text for reviews and notes.
• Image support for the Label Photo field—the sheet should store the image URL and display a thumbnail so I can recognise bottles at a glance.
• A separate dashboard or at least a couple of ready-made filter views that instantly show:
– what’s ready to drink now,
– what’s coming into its window next year, and
– anything with quantity = 0 so I can archive or restock.
Deliverables
1. Fully formatted Google Sheets workbook with all formulas, validation rules and filter views in place.
2. Google Apps Script file attached to the sheet that powers the pop-up form and automatic time-stamps.
3. Short written hand-off note (or a tab in the workbook) explaining how to add more fields later and how to attach new images correctly.
I’m happy to answer quick questions as you build, but ideally you can hand me something that works out of the box so I can start entering bottles right away.
