Redundant S7-1500 Water Pump PLC Control
Budget: $20,000 – $50,000 USD
I need a Siemens-experienced PLC engineer to create a complete control solution for a set of water pumps using an S7-1500. The goal is rock-solid, fully automated pump management with clear diagnostics and easy expandability.
Scope of work
• Design the full control logic in TIA Portal for start/stop sequencing, pressure/flow regulation, fault handling, and energy-efficient rotation of duty pumps.
• Develop accompanying HMI screens (WinCC Comfort/Advanced) that give operators intuitive status, alarms, and manual override functions.
• Generate all required documentation: functional description, tag list, network diagram, and commented source code.
• Simulate and bench-test the program before site deployment; deliver test reports that prove the logic under normal, fault, and maintenance conditions.
• Support on-site commissioning, fine-tuning, and final acceptance. Remote access via TeleService or VPN is available.
What I’ll provide
P&ID of the pumping system, I/O list, preferred instrumentation, and network topology.
What I expect from you
• Proven track record with Siemens S7-1500 and TIA Portal.
• Familiarity with drive control over PROFINET or hard-wired starters.
• Ability to optimise for energy use and minimal downtime.
• Clear, timely communication and willingness to collaborate with my electrical team.
Deliverables are the compiled program, open TIA project, HMI runtime files, complete documentation package, and post-commissioning support for any issues discovered in the first month.
If this resonates with your expertise, let’s discuss timeline and milestones so we can get the pumps running smoothly.
