Python Script for Excel Workflow
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
My current Excel routine requires several steps—merging sheets, filtering data, copying to and from specific tabs and worksheets/workbooks, and launching an existing VBA macro. I want all of that rolled into a single Python script so I can finish the job with one command instead of numerous clicks.
I’m comfortable if you choose pandas, openpyxl, or a similar library—as long as the final solution runs from the command line; I have a basic understanding of both Excel and Python, but am not sufficiently conversant in both to easily write this script myself.
Deliverables
excel.py (fully commented and with output updates)
Acceptance test: when I replace the source files and run `python excel.py`, the generated output must mirror my manual work in both content and the macro-driven formatting.
Feel free to suggest small adjustments if they simplify maintenance, but stick closely to the outlined logic..... it all works when I do it manually, and other processes in Python are dependent on the precise actions. I am fairly sure I have documented the full process (but without full file names and paths which will be provided along with sample files on project acceptance)
This will not be a difficult project for someone fully conversant in Python and Excel, and completing it successfully and in a timely manner and sensible price will certainly lead to more Python work related to the project.
NOTE**
Although the indicated budget is £20-£250, I expect quotes to be around the low-middle of that range, and ALL placeholder quotes will be deleted without consideration
