Playwright & Karate QA Automation
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I need an end-to-end automation suite that safeguards functional stability for our web application and its supporting APIs. The work centres on Playwright with Cucumber for UI-level scenarios and Karate for integration points, all wired to trigger automatically after every code commit in our CI/CD pipeline.
You will develop and maintain the tests directly on my secure remote workstation; the source must stay on that machine—no local copies or sharing outside the environment. A consistent 3-to-5-hour overlap with Central Time (CST) is essential because we will review new scenarios, debug flaky cases, and fine-tune CI jobs together during that window.
The role demands a seasoned engineer with at least six years of hands-on automation experience, confident in:
• Crafting robust Playwright + Cucumber functional suites
• Building Karate feature files for API and integration validation
• Integrating results into standard reporting dashboards and failing the pipeline when regressions surface
Deliverables:
1. Playwright/Cucumber test pack covering all critical UI journeys, checked into our repo and running green in CI.
2. Karate feature set validating key service contracts and error paths.
3. Documentation on test structure, tagging strategy, and execution commands so any team member can reproduce the run on the remote machine.
4. Guidance on adding new scenarios, plus one recorded walkthrough session.
Acceptance criteria: every commit triggers both suites, failures block the merge, and results appear in the CI dashboard with clear links to logs and screenshots.
If you can hit those marks while collaborating within the stated constraints, I’m ready to get started straight away.
