1. Project Overview
We require the design, integration, and configuration of a real-time energy monitoring dashboard within Home Assistant. The system will use data from a Selec MFM376-C-CE multifunction power meter, communicated via a Waveshare RS485-to-Ethernet converter.
2. Scope of Work
The selected vendor must deliver a fully functional system as outlined below.
2.1 Hardware Integration & Configuration
• Verify and configure the Modbus RTU communication parameters (baud rate, parity, slave ID) on the Selec MFM376 meter.
• Configure the Waveshare Serial Server with a static IP address and set it for transparent Modbus RTU-to-TCP bridge mode.
• Advise on proper RS485 wiring termination and physical installation if required.
2.2 Home Assistant Core Integration
• Configure the native Home Assistant Modbus TCP integration to connect to the Waveshare server.
• Create and define sensor entities for all key parameters by correctly mapping the Selec MFM376 Modbus register map (to be provided). Essential parameters include:
o Phase Voltages (V1, V2, V3)
o Phase Currents (I1, I2, I3)
o Active, Reactive, and Apparent Power (total and per phase)
o Power Factor (total and per phase)
o Grid Frequency (Hz)
o Import/Export Active Energy (kWh) – from multiple tariff registers if available.

2.3 Dashboard Development
• Design and implement a Lovelace dashboard with a clear, user-friendly layout.
• Include visualizations such as:
o A summary gauge or card for current total power (kW).
o Historical line graphs for power and energy consumption.
o Numerical readouts for key electrical parameters in a clean card-based layout.
o Visualization of three-phase voltage and current balance.
2.4 Optional/Advanced Features
• Implementation of energy cost tracking using utility rates (fixed or time-of-use).
• Creation of automations or alerts for high-power thresholds or phase imbalance.
• Configuration of long-term data storage (e.g., using InfluxDB) and advanced Grafana dashboards.
• Setup of energy management features using the Home Assistant Energy dashboard.
3. Deliverables
• A fully operational Home Assistant integration with all sensors reporting correctly.
• A completed and functional Lovelace dashboard as per the requirements.
• Documentation including the sensor configuration (configuration.yaml snippets), dashboard configuration, and a system operation guide.

• Experience: Demonstrable experience with Home Assistant custom integration, YAML configuration, and the Modbus protocol.
