Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I have a large-scale mapping task and need your support pinpointing more than a thousand water tanks on Google Earth (or Google Maps where Street View or satellite layers help). For every tank you locate, I only require its precise latitude and longitude—nothing else at this stage.
You can use any of the built-in Google measuring, pin-dropping, or KML/KMZ export tools you’re comfortable with, as long as the final data is accurate to within a few metres.
Deliverables
• A spreadsheet or CSV listing each water tank with its coordinates (decimal degrees)
• A KML/KMZ file containing all placemarks for quick visual verification
Acceptance criteria
• Minimum 1,000 unique water tanks mapped
• Each coordinate must fall on a clearly identifiable tank in satellite view
• No duplicate entries; consistency check passes when plotted back against Google Earth
If you already have methods to automate part of the search—Python scripts, GIS extensions, Google Earth Engine, or similar—feel free to leverage them, as speed will be appreciated provided accuracy remains high.
