Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced AI and Power Automate Specialist to support the automation of paraphrasing benchmark answers embedded within a 150-page Microsoft Word document. These benchmarks are positioned in comments next to tables and need to be paraphrased contextually and accurately into a specific column of the same table—tailored to each student's resume and background.
Project Goal:
- Create an automated solution that:
- Extracts benchmark answers from Word comments or adjacent content in tables
- Paraphrases them using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or OpenAI (maintaining tone, quality, and meaning)
- Personalises the content based on student-specific context (e.g. from a resume or provided background info)
- Inserts the paraphrased, contextualised version into the designated benchmark column in the same table
Challenges to Solve:
- Token/Character Limits: AI tools like Copilot lose quality when processing large chunks of text.
- Paraphrasing must occur in small segments (1 paragraph or 1–2 pages) at a time to maintain quality.
- Document Size: The complete document is 150+ pages—the solution must be able to loop this process repeatedly until the entire document is processed.
- Text Location: Benchmarks are in comments or positioned beside tables, requiring clever extraction logic.
- Contextualisation: Paraphrased content must integrate examples from a student's background or resume to show personalised understanding.
- Formatting: Maintain the original table structure and document layout throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Design a semi-automated solution using Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, and/or other NLP tools
- Develop logic to read comments or table-linked benchmarks and extract them for paraphrasing
- Integrate student resume data into the AI model prompt to allow contextualisation
- Ensure the final paraphrased content is accurate, aligned to benchmarks, and inserted in the correct cell
- Create a looped batch workflow that completes paraphrasing for the entire 150-page document in manageable segments
- Ensure document formatting and layout are preserved at all times
- Optionally, build error-handling or checkpoint logic for manual review as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Word automation, and Copilot/OpenAI API
- Familiarity with Word comments, tables, and Office Scripts or VBA
- Strong understanding of AI paraphrasing techniques, contextual NLP, and token limitations
- Ability to integrate student-specific examples or metadata into AI prompts
- Attention to detail, quality control, and strong communication skills
- Self-starter who can deliver independently and suggest workflow improvements
Nice to Have:
- Background in education, training, or working with assessment documents
