Excel VBA AutoCAD Viewports Creator
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I have regular drawings that need multiple viewports generated quickly, and I want that whole step handled from Excel. All I need is an Excel-based VBA routine that connects to AutoCAD, lets me list the target layouts or sheet numbers in a worksheet, and then presses a button to create the viewports automatically.
The automation focus is purely on creating viewports; setting their exact scale, position, and layer visibility can stay on default settings for now. I’m coming in with only a rough idea of the final layout, so I’ll rely on you for practical suggestions on the template—how many viewports per sheet, typical scales, best practice for title-block alignment, and so on.
You won’t be starting from zero: I already recorded a short tutorial video that shows the manual steps I follow today. Use that as a workflow reference while you script the VBA.
Deliverables
• An unlocked, well-commented XLSM that creates the viewports with a single click.
• Any supporting AutoCAD scripts or references required for the Excel macro to run.
• A brief read-me (or video clip, if you prefer) showing setup and a live demo on one sample DWG.
I’ll test by running your file against two of my own drawings; once the viewports appear in the correct layout tabs without errors, the job is done. Feel free to suggest enhancements, but the core “create viewports from Excel” function is the priority.
