Excel-PPT Dashboard AutoUpdater on SharePoint
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
Project Title
Dynamic Excel–PowerPoint Dashboard Automation for SharePoint (No Direct Cloud Access)
Project Overview
We use Excel and PowerPoint to create regular business dashboards for different regions/zones. Our data is updated by multiple colleagues in Excel files stored on a company SharePoint/OneDrive site. We want to eliminate all manual updating of PowerPoint charts and visuals every time the Excel data changes.
What I Need
A fully automated workflow where PowerPoint dashboards update dynamically from Excel data, without any manual copy-pasting or editing.
This automation must work on SharePoint (the Excel and PPT files live there and are updated by the whole team).
You will not have direct access to our SharePoint (IT restriction). I will provide you with downloaded copies of both files to work with.
Your solution must be easy for me to implement and maintain in the real SharePoint/OneDrive environment (not just on your laptop).
Your Tasks
Build Dynamic Automation Locally:
Set up all links, formulas, macros, and charts so that the PPT automatically updates whenever the Excel data changes.
Avoid hardcoded file paths—use relative or portable links/methods.
Deliver a “Plug-and-Play” Solution:
Everything must be ready for me to transfer and use with the real cloud files.
Document and annotate exactly which data sources/fields are connected to which visuals.
Step-by-Step Handover Guide:
Write a clear, beginner-friendly instruction guide so I can:
Implement and set up the automation on SharePoint/OneDrive myself.
Re-link files if the folder or file location changes.
Troubleshoot any issues that come up when using in the real cloud environment.
Testing & Support:
Provide demo/test files showing how the automation works.
Be available to answer questions or troubleshoot after handover (short Q&A window).
Alternative Solution:
If a fully automated Excel-to-PPT solution isn’t possible due to cloud limitations, build a dynamic Excel dashboard with all the visualizations needed for reporting, so I never have to build the PPT by hand again.
Suggest your best workaround if you know a smarter or more reliable way.
Your Profile
Proven expertise in Excel automation (formulas, macros/VBA, dynamic dashboards).
Experience with PowerPoint–Excel linking (especially for cloud environments like SharePoint).
Ability to deliver portable, well-documented solutions for users who can’t grant you direct access to their live cloud site.
My goal:
A robust, user-friendly, and scalable way for our dashboards and charts to always be up-to-date, with minimal manual work—even in a restricted SharePoint environment.
