I'm seeking a skilled developer to enhance my existing Python-based auto backup system. This tool is designed to automate file backups, saving time and effort when managing files across multiple folders or devices. It backs up selected folders at set intervals, saves each backup in a timestamped folder, and sends email notifications for backup success or failure. The system runs silently in the background and features a modern, clean GUI.
Key Requirements:
- Integrate a progress bar to display backup status in the GUI
- Add options to start/stop backups directly from the interface
- Implement logs or history to track past backups
- Ensure compatibility with Windows operating systems
- Use Gmail for sending email notifications
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Python, particularly with Tkinter for GUI development
- Experience with email automation using smtplib
- Familiarity with file handling and automation using shutil
- Understanding of threading for running background processes
- Ability to integrate new features into existing codebases
