I need a seasoned automation engineer to expand and re-engineer our existing Emerson DeltaV DCS and Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLC infrastructure so both platforms operate as one cohesive process-automation environment. The hardware is already on the plant floor; what’s missing is a robust strategy that lets DeltaV coordinate with ControlLogix assets without compromising speed or reliability.

Scope of work
• Review current DeltaV modules, ControlLogix projects, and all network drawings.
• Produce a control strategy that maps every critical I/O point, alarm, and interlock between the two systems.
• Configure communications (EtherNet/IP, OPC, or your proven alternative) and update controller logic and DeltaV configuration to support seamless handshaking, time-stamped events, and secure data exchange.
• Deliver updated control narratives, fully commented logic, and ready-to-load configuration files. A brief test plan and simulation results that prove set-point changes, alarms, and trips propagate correctly across both platforms will complete the package.

Acceptance criteria
– All integrated loops pass factory acceptance test with <1 s data latency.
– Alarms and trips appear simultaneously in DeltaV and FactoryTalk.
– Documentation is clear enough that maintenance staff can load a backup without your help.

If you’ve spent years inside both DeltaV Explorer and Studio 5000, know your way around OPC UA and EtherNet/IP, and can back your work with tight documentation and remote commissioning support, I’d love to talk.

The work will be carried out in Japan, with dispatch costs covered by the company. The person will be tasked with modifying a system already in operation within a semiconductor factory.

Work will be performed within Japan. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by us.
A water treatment system integrating Allen-Bradley and DeltaV is already operational at the semiconductor factory.
You will be responsible for addressing minor modifications requested by the customer. Since there are no standard documents for this project, you must read, understand, and modify the actual PLC and DeltaV systems. The PLC is implemented using ladder logic and SFC, and DeltaV does not perform control functions; it is used as SCADA.
There is also no organized documentation for the communication I/O points, so the ability to understand both systems is required.
In other words, not only engineering skills but also system design capabilities are necessary.
As this is a Japanese project, the scope definition is ambiguous, and adaptability to these conditions is required.
Experience working with Japanese companies is desirable. Agreement on differences in system development culture and legal implications is necessary.
