Daily Linux Log Monitoring

I run a production Linux server and I want its logs watched closely every single day. Your job is to put a reliable log-monitoring routine in place, tune it so that real issues surface immediately, and make sure I receive a concise daily report.

The core of the engagement is simple: set up, automate, and maintain daily log monitoring. I’m not asking for broader software updates or sweeping security hardening right now—just rock-solid visibility into what the logs are telling us so we can react before small warnings become service-affecting problems.

Here’s what I need from you:
• Configure and, if necessary, install the monitoring tool of your choice (Logwatch, Logrotate with custom scripts, ELK stack components, or anything comparable that suits a single Linux host).
• Define filters and alert rules for critical events, unusual access attempts, disk errors, and any other red flags you suggest.
• Automate a daily report delivered to my email (or Slack/webhook if you prefer) in an easy-to-read format.
• Document the setup clearly so I can maintain or extend it later.
• Verify everything continues to run correctly during the first week by reviewing alert noise, tweaking thresholds, and confirming the daily report arrives on schedule.

Acceptance criteria: by the end of the first week, I should see accurate, actionable reports in my inbox every morning without manual intervention, and any test alerts we inject must trigger exactly as configured.
