CRA Browser AI Automation Script (Post-Login) for Canadian Accounting Firm

Job ID: 40087207

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

I’m leading automation work for a boutique Canadian accounting firm and need a technical partner to help build (or at least validate) a browser automation script for CRA payroll remittance tracking.

Right now, the firm logs in manually to the CRA portal and checks payroll balances + deadlines for dozens of clients every month. It takes 2–3 full days of tedious work.

We’re not touching the login, a human logs in. Your script picks up from there.

What Needs to Happen:

Once the human logs in, your script should:

Persist the authenticated session

Navigate to the correct payroll remittance section

Extract key data: business number, balance due, due date

Flag anything overdue or at risk

Push results into a Google Sheet or structured webhook

Tech Stack:

You tell me what works best: Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, RPA tool, as long as it’s reliable, headless-capable, and doesn’t violate CRA terms. The script must be portable and run on a schedule or manual trigger.

Key requirements:

Survives post-login session (or handles reuse cleanly)

No credential scraping or captcha bypass

Clear README + .env setup

Bonus if it includes basic logging or alerts

Deliverables:

Feasibility write-up: how you’d do it, with stack choice + rationale

Working prototype script that runs on real CRA session (human-initiated login)

README with setup, env vars, and brief logic explanation

Output to Sheet or webhook (I’ll wire it up from there)

Acceptance Criteria:

Script runs headless and pulls correct data ±0.5% of visible CRA dashboard values

Session persists at least 30 minutes or is restorable

Script works on 3 consecutive runs with no DOM breakage

Clean, portable codebase with minimal dependencies

To Apply:

Tell me:

Which stack you’d use and why

How you’d handle session control securely

This is the first of several automations, if this goes well, there’s more work waiting. But I want to start with this, and ship fast.
