Azure Windows VM Deployment
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I need a brand-new Azure tenant configured from the ground up, focused on spinning up production-ready Windows Virtual Machines.
Here is the scope I have in mind:
• Create the subscription, resource groups, and naming conventions that will keep future growth tidy.
• Design a secure virtual network with subnets, NSGs, and a bastion or jump-box approach so no RDP ports sit open on the internet.
• Build a reusable deployment template (ARM or Bicep is fine) that launches Windows Server VMs with automatic updates, backup policies, and monitoring enabled through Azure Monitor.
• Set up role-based access control so administrators get the rights they need while keeping least-privilege for everyone else.
• Document the process clearly so I can replicate it or hand it to new team members without guesswork.
Right now I only need Virtual Machines, but the layout should leave headroom for adding Azure Databases or AI services later, so think modular. If you’re comfortable automating with Azure CLI or PowerShell, that’s a plus—manual clicks in the portal are acceptable for the initial run, yet I do want everything captured as code before the job is done.
Deliverables will be:
1. Deployed and tested Windows VM environment in my Azure account.
2. Infrastructure-as-code files committed to a Git repo I provide.
3. A short hand-off guide (PDF or Markdown) covering the architecture, credentials setup, and how to spin up additional VMs using the template.
Once these three pieces are in my hands and verified, the project is complete.
