Automate Sage50 Inventory Build Process

Job ID: 39781853

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

I use Sage50 Quantum to build finished goods from multiple raw-material locations, but every build still forces me to run a separate “transfer inventory” step so the completed items land in the correct warehouse. I want a smarter workflow that immediately deducts components from Location A (or any source I choose) and posts the finished product to Location B in one action.

My main objective is to reduce manual steps; stock transfers are the biggest bottleneck. At the moment I run Sage50 “plain”—no add-ons or custom integrations—so the solution can be a built-in configuration I’ve overlooked, a Sage-approved SDK script, an external automation tool, or another proven method that reliably achieves the same result without compromising data integrity. That said we are looking at adding MISys onto our current Sage50 in the New Year. We are seeing if there is any solution in the meantime.

Deliverable
• A documented, repeatable setup (settings guide, script, or utility) that builds assemblies while automatically handling the location change.
• A short walk-through or screen share demonstrating the process live in my environment so I can see the one-step build in action.

Acceptance Criteria
• Raw materials reduce from the chosen source location.
• Finished goods appear in the destination location immediately after the build.
• No extra “transfer” transaction is required, and audit trails remain accurate.
• Solution works on Sage50 Quantum (current Canadian version).

If you’ve streamlined this exact scenario before—or can develop a quick script or rule set that does—please let me know how you’d tackle it and roughly how long it would take to implement.
