Automate Carriage-Bolt Forging Line

Job ID: 40601117

Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR

I’m upgrading my current forging setup into a fully automatic line dedicated to carriage-bolt production and need a specialist who can design or re-engineer the unit from feeding bar stock all the way through finished, inspected parts.

Scope of the automation
• Loading & unloading: create a hands-free system to feed raw material into the headers and transfer finished bolts to bins or conveyors.
• Forging parameter control: integrate sensors and a PLC/HMI so ram stroke, temperature, and die alignment can be adjusted on the fly without stopping the press.
• Quality control & inspection: add inline dimensional, material‐verification, and surface-finish checks that eject non-conforming pieces automatically.

Bolt specification focus
We will be running carriage bolts only, with precise control over:
– Size & dimensions (I’ll supply full drawings on award)
– Material type (predominantly medium-carbon steel, but design must allow quick changeovers)
– Finish or coating (zinc, HDG, or plain as required)

Deliverables
1. Mechanical and electrical layout drawings (STEP + PDF).
2. PLC/robotic cell program with annotated code and I/O list.
3. Bill of materials specifying off-the-shelf components.
4. Commissioning checklist and run-off acceptance procedure demonstrating cycle time, dimensional accuracy, and rejection rate targets we agree on.

Please outline your relevant forging-line projects, the control architecture you favour (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi), and an estimated timeline from design to on-site start-up.
