Description:
I have an existing Excel-based profit and inventory tracker for my resale business (clothing resale across platforms like eBay, etc.). The file is already built and functional, but I need an expert to clean it up, improve reliability, and add automation.
This is NOT a build-from-scratch project. You will be working inside an existing file with formulas already in place.
Current Structure:
Main sheet tracks:
Item name, brand, category
Purchase price/date
Listing price and sale price
Shipping, fees, taxes
Net profit calculations
Separate sheet for expense tracking
Basic summary section for total profit and expenses
What I need improved:
Clean Up & Structure
Remove duplicate or unnecessary columns
Standardize formulas across rows
Ensure consistency and accuracy
Profit Accuracy
Validate and correct all profit calculations
Ensure fees, shipping, and costs are properly accounted for
Eliminate manual calculation risk
Status Tracking
Add a clean status system (e.g., Purchased, Listed, Sold)
Automatically update status based on inputs (like Date Sold)
Automation & Protection
Lock/protect formula cells so they cannot be accidentally edited
Add dropdowns and data validation where appropriate
Reduce manual entry errors
Dashboard / Summary Improvements
Build a clean dashboard that shows:

Profit by platform (if possible)
Make it easy to understand at a glance
