Job Description:
We are seeking an OpenStudio expert with a strong understanding of HVAC modeling, specifically for performing Manual J, D, and S calculations. Our goal is to integrate OpenStudio with Revit to extract the necessary building data and run detailed HVAC load analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
Customize OpenStudio to perform in-depth Manual J, D, and S calculations.
Modify OpenStudio scripts to process data automatically from Revit.
Develop workflows that integrate Dynamo scripts with OpenStudio for seamless data transfer.
Ensure compliance with ACCA Manual J 8th Edition and Manual D standards.
Assist in optimizing duct sizing based on airflow and friction loss calculations.
Generate reports and outputs for use within Revit and external applications.
Required Skills & Experience:
Expert-level proficiency in OpenStudio and EnergyPlus.
Experience with Revit and Dynamo scripting.
Strong understanding of Manual J, Manual D, and Manual S calculations.
Ability to modify OpenStudio scripts for customized HVAC modeling.
Experience integrating Revit data with OpenStudio for HVAC analysis.
Knowledge of EnergyPlus simulation and HVAC load calculations.
Previous experience with automating workflows for HVAC analysis is a plus.
Project Scope & Deliverables:
Assist in configuring OpenStudio for accurate HVAC load analysis.
Develop a process to import Revit data directly into OpenStudio.
Provide documentation or guidance on best practices for using OpenStudio with Revit.
Ensure the output results are formatted correctly for engineering and design use.
