Traditional Himalayan Group Housing Design
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I have secured a sloping site in the lower Himalayas and need a cohesive design package that marries local vernacular architecture with modern comfort. The brief covers two interconnected scopes: a gated community masterplan for vacation-oriented group housing and a set of hill-facing duplex villas. I want the visual language to stay firmly Traditional—stone façades, timber details, pitched roofs—and yet feel light, warm, and welcoming for short-stay guests.
Scope of work
• Site-responsive masterplan that respects the natural contours, optimises valley views, and clearly defines internal roads, pedestrian paths, and parking.
• Concept and detailed layouts for 20–25 duplex villas, each with private decks overlooking the hills.
• Integration of three high-priority common amenities: a clubhouse, an outdoor-edge infinity swimming pool, and a compact gym & fitness pavilion. Their placement should encourage social interaction while remaining acoustically separated from the villas.
• 3D massing studies, façade mood boards, colour palettes, and material specifications rooted in regional craftsmanship.
• Final deliverables: scaled CAD drawings, annotated floor plans, sections/elevations, plus photorealistic renders or Lumion walkthroughs ready for investor presentations.
I usually review work in AutoCAD or Revit and prefer renders from SketchUp + V-Ray or a similar pipeline, but I’m open to whichever tools you’re most efficient in—just keep source files editable.
Acceptance criteria
1. Masterplan maximises south-east sun and gives every villa an unobstructed valley vista.
2. Amenity blocks sit within a 5-minute walk from the furthest unit.
3. Material palette and rooflines comply with local building bylaws and snow-load requirements.
4. All files delivered in DWG (2018 or earlier), PDF, and original 3D format.
