Stuctural Engineer- for foundation, footings, and posts for a 30' Balcony
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need pier foundation plans for a future balcony I will have built after the pool is finished.
I would like to have pier foundations and footings in the ground at the time of the pre-landing inspection. I can't get a design and permit in time (I have a May 28th Plaster Date) for the whole balcony but I want to prepare footings and water proof posts in preparation for a balcony with a length of 30' and width of 6'. I have documentation that the balcony is to have a max balcony load of 1,500 psf or less and we want it to be constructed of Trex or similar product with a glass rail system and post foundation can be directly behind the pool wall.
The original pool contractor is MIA and the city is suggesting I resubmit my plans and documents for a pool permit as owner builder. I would like to include documentation for properly engineered pier foundations and footings for a future balcony so that I don't risk damaging my gunite, coping, and plaster if I were to finish the pool completely and then start the balcony.
I have an illustration of what I need, but the posts need to be reconsidered based on quantity, can't be on the spa wall, can't be on the pool wall, nor block entry into the pool.
