A conceptual 5 storey hotel to be designed (CAD and pdf drawings). This is a detailed assignment which requires calculations to be included and explanations.
Assignment 1 – due 21st October 2022
• All loading calculations including workings for the beams, columns etc.
• Determination of suitable foundation for the hotel
• Determine suitable floor type
• Outline proposal for interconnection link infrastructure
• 3 architectural drawings (CAD) and plotted to pdf (A3 and A4) for the hotel
o ground/reception floor – plan view showing details (i.e. restaurant, office, reception, courtyard etc.)
o floor 2 – plan view showing rooms
o section view of the beams/columns/basement/foundation including dimensions
Assignment 2 – due 2nd December 2022
• Full construction design (CAD and PDFs) for the hotel
o Foundations, columns, beams, floors
o Include general arrangement drawings
• Full calculations, including wind/live/dead loads
• Analysis using Rivet of the loadings/calculations required.
• Explain the rationale behind the choices made
• Full design of bridge, the approach roads and the pedestrian walkway
