Scaffolding Components Design & Development
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 AUD
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with AutoCAD expertise to assist in designing new scaffolding components for our Butlin 360 system.
This project involves mechanical design, structural analysis, and compliance with Australian Scaffold Standards (AS/NZS 1576). You’ll work alongside our lead engineer to develop high-performance, cost-effective scaffolding solutions.
Scope of Work:
Design & develop scaffolding components using AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
✅ Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 1576 – Scaffolding Design, Use & Components.
Conduct structural analysis for strength, durability, and cost-efficiency.
Create technical drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation.
Optimize designs for manufacturing & production (DFM/DFA).
Collaborate with suppliers & manufacturers to ensure feasibility.
Assist in R&D, prototyping, and testing of new Butlin 360 components.
Required Skills & Experience:
✅ 10+ years in mechanical or structural engineering (scaffolding or height safety experience preferred).
✅ Expert-level AutoCAD proficiency (2D & 3D) – must provide portfolio samples.
✅ Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems & modular construction.
✅ Understanding of AS/NZS 1576 (Scaffolding Standards) & Australian compliance requirements.
✅ Experience with fabrication, CNC machining, and welding processes.
✅ Proven ability to work independently & deliver accurate designs on time.
Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications:
➕ Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or similar certification.
➕ Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit.
➕ Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience for structural testing.
➕ Background in scaffolding, temporary works, or modular structures.
Deliverables:
Complete AutoCAD designs for Butlin 360 scaffolding components.
Structural calculations & compliance reports for AS/NZS 1576.
Fabrication-ready drawings & technical documentation.
