Room divider blueprint and illustration
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
We are looking to create a room divider that can be mounted into place without requiring any drilling. This is achieved by "clamping" it between the floor and ceiling with adjustable feet (As seen in picture 2).
Each divider is 2.5 m tall and 1 m wide. It is meant to consist of 3 vertical bars and 5 horizontal, with two pairs of feet at the top and bottom of the frame. The spacing of the vertical bars is 50 cm, and the horizontal bars are 83.3 cm. The thickness of the bars are 33.33mm. The dimensions of the spacing should roughly be the same as in picture 1. These measurements are flexible if you have better suggestions.
The adjustable feet in both ends of the frame should be the same as in picture 2.
Each bar will have cut-outs that will make it easy for the customer to piece it all together (See picture 3, 4, 5 and 6), and attach it all with accompanied screws. Each part of the divider must have pre-drilled holes for the screws.
The vertical bars at the very least have to be divided in two to reduce bulk. We have experimented with double ended thread screws (picture 7) to allow for stable and easy assembly of the these, but are open to other suggestions. Any suggestions to split up other parts of the divider without compromising stability are welcome.
MAIN ASSIGNMENT: Please come up with a complete design/blueprint with the loose guidelines stated above in mind, that allows us to reduce bulk while maintaining stability. We would like the designs to be presented both in CAD and 2D drawings.
