Roof Truss Design in Wood
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am in need of a professional with experience in designing wooden roof trusses, specifically in the Open Attic-in style for a 24' by 36' pole barn. We would love if the roof can have a 8/12 pitch or a 10/12 pitch if necessary. If possible we would like the roof to have a 1 foot overhang on all sides. We will need the snow load rating to be above 50 lbs as we are located in northern Michigan. In order to meet township requirements we need to be able to provide the TCLL, TDCL, BCLL and BCDL truss load ratings.
Our pole barn will be built using 4x6 posts spaced 8' O.C, using 2x12 truss carriers/headers with 2x4 side and top grits.
Ideal Skills:
- Proficiency in structural engineering and truss design
- Familiarity with wood material properties and construction techniques
- Experience with Open Attic-in truss design
Key Responsibilities:
- Design a robust, efficient, and cost-effective wooden roof truss
- Ensure the design meets all necessary safety and structural requirements
- Indicate the dimensions, lengths, type, and angles of all materials used.
- Provide detailed schematics and specifications for the truss including, snow load, TCLL, TDCL, BCLL, and BCDL truss load ratings
The selected freelancer should have a strong portfolio of similar projects and can demonstrate an understanding of the engineering required to design the trusses for our barn. Please include examples of your work in your proposal.
