Remote work for MEP Designer/Drafter (USA Restaurants)

We are a growing design & engineering firm that specializes in architecture, engineering, and permitting to serve US based restaurants as they grow their locations. Great mechanical and electrical design is vital to our team and the success of our clients. As we grow and work to serve more restaurants, we are looking for a MEP designer to lead the MEP projects and drawings under the supervision of the engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the architecture and engineering team to design and draft MEP plans for restaurants
- Manage the entire MEP design process, from concept to construction documents
- Work closely with the engineer of record to ensure that all MEP designs are in compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations
- Create 2D drawings using CAD software
- Review and analyze MEP plans and specifications for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with other design professionals, such as architects, structural engineers, and contractors, to ensure that all MEP systems are properly integrated into the overall building design
- Attend project meetings and provide technical support to the team as needed
- Perform site visits and inspections to ensure that MEP systems are installed correctly
- Communicate project progress and issues to the project manager and other team members
- Continuously improve design processes and standards to increase efficiency and quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and drafting MEP plans for restaurants or similar facilities
- Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Knowledgeable in local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to MEP systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
