Junior HVAC Designer - Wrightsoft
Established in 2005, Design HVAC Experts Inc is a residential HVAC design firm that offers independent design and consulting services to heating contractors, builders, architects and homeowners all over Ontario. As Design Experts continues to attain new clients and expand into new markets, we are seeking a Junior HVAC Designer to join our virtual team.
The Junior HVAC Designer will focus on inputting data into Wrightsoft software to build residential heat loss/gain calculations to accurately size mechanical equipment. One will be responsible for importing house drawings in PDF format, properly scaling the drawings, then adding all architectural details to generate accurate heat loss and heat gain reports in advance of duct and ventilation layouts. There is an opportunity to grow into delivering duct and ventilation layouts as an intermediate HVAC designer.
Updating one’s progress within the proprietary and virtual workflow management platform is essential to the efficient production of services. The selected candidate will have at minimum high school diploma and one (1) year of Post-Secondary Mechanical Engineering or Energy Management.
We are offering a full-time or part-time flexible hour position, 20-40hrs per week. The selected applicant will work closely with an experienced HVAC Designer and be expected to work from a suitable home-based office. Training can be done virtually.
Duties of the Junior Designer Include:
• Enter data into Wrightsoft to build effective heat loss and heat gain reports for proper equipment sizing and load allocation
Requirements of this Opportunity Include:
• At minimum one (1) year of Post-Secondary Education
• Must possess a minimum high school diploma
• Working knowledge of Wrightsoft is a considerable asset
• Studies in Energy Management would be an asset but not required.
• Knowledge of timber frame structures and basic building codes considered an asset but not essential
• Must be capable of working independently and unsupervised
• A strong competence of computer software including, Excel, Adobe, Outlook
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) is necessary
• Demonstrated professionalism, company-focused, with a strong work ethic
• Process-oriented and the ability to thrive within a workflow whereby the design process is meticulously followed and attention to detail is second to none.
