New House Landscaping Design - Front & Rear
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I'm seeking a landscape designer to create a traditional-style, kid-friendly backyard for my new home. Front and rear of property. Please note RL heights around the house.
Key Requirements:
- Design a safe, spacious play area for my young kids (7 and 3 years old).
- Incorporate low-maintenance Australian native plants wherever possible.
- Create clear, practical pathways connecting the alfresco, the pool, and the downstairs bathroom on the left side of the house.
- Use discretion for the shed's size and location, as it is flexible.
- Prioritize modern and understated solutions for pool privacy, keeping in mind the legal requirement for a pool fence (minimum height of 1.2m).
- Work with the assumption that the space between the fence and the retaining wall will be removed, as per discussions with the builder.
- Include some fruit trees (like citrus and figs) in the design.
- Design a herb garden, which can be accommodated in planter boxes.
- Position a Frangipani tree in the front yard.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in landscape design, particularly for traditional-style gardens.
- Previous work designing play areas for children will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of Australian native plants and low-maintenance landscaping solutions.
- Creativity in designing practical pathways and using space effectively.
- Experience with privacy landscaping, particularly around pool areas.
- Ability to design and position fruit trees and a herb garden within a residential landscape.
- Experience with traditional garden features and plants, such as a Frangipani tree.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with the builder and understanding project requirements.
