New Guard Rail
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are adding a glass guard rail to an existing concrete balcony and need engineered plans to pull a permit for the city of Los Angeles. We have plans from a similar project (different contractor), but we are mounting the base shoe into the wall with a fascia-mount (see "ACHIEVE-Railing-System-Drawings.pdf". I believe these plans ("Old Structural Calculations.pdf) have the base shoe mounted using steel angle.
The proposed balcony is 168 5/8" wide and 25" tall. The top of the guard rail will be 52" tall with a cap rail using Kiixset concrete and 9/16 laminated tempered clear glass.
