The design must comply with:
>NFPA 13D
>California Fire Code requirements
>Contra Costa County Fire Protection District / local AHJ requirements
>Applicable City of Lafayette and Contra Costa County requirements
The selected designer should be familiar with residential fire sprinkler systems in California and must be able to prepare a complete permit-ready submittal package.
Scope of Work:
>Review architectural plans and project information
>Prepare NFPA 13D fire sprinkler layout
>Identify sprinkler head locations
>Size piping and system components
>Prepare hydraulic calculations
>Provide material list and equipment cut sheets
>Coordinate with domestic water service requirements
>Prepare drawings suitable for submittal to the local fire authority
>Respond to AHJ plan check comments if required
Required Qualifications:
>Experience designing NFPA 13D residential fire sprinkler systems
>Familiarity with California residential fire sprinkler requirements
>Familiarity with Contra Costa County Fire Protection District requirements is preferred
>Must hold the appropriate license or certification to design residential fire sprinkler systems in California, such as:
>>California C-16 Fire Protection Contractor, or
>>California licensed Fire Protection Engineer / Professional Engineer, or
>>Other qualification accepted by the local AHJ
>Must be able to provide license number or credentials before award
