NFPA 1402 Container Training Prop Plans
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I need a complete, permit-ready plan set for a three-story fire and tactical training prop built from shipping containers. The configuration is fixed: five 40-ft high cubes on grade, three stacked above, two more on the third level, plus a vertical stair tower of two 40-ft units and a separate 20-ft unit with a roll-up door for vehicle entry drills. All containers sit on a compacted gravel pad with no permanent foundations and will be joined with standard container fasteners.
Inside, the primary training feature is a search-and-rescue environment laid out as a multi-room maze. Openings between containers must align to create this internal maze while still satisfying structural integrity and the guidance in NFPA 1402.
What I need from you is a concise drawing package that Dover’s Building Department can accept for a basic building permit, including:
• Code compliance narrative referencing NFPA 1402 and the applicable sections of the IBC
• Dimensioned floor plans for each level showing container placement, interior cut-outs, stair tower access, and the maze layout
• Elevations, sections, and connection details illustrating how the containers are stacked and fastened
• Basic structural notes confirming load paths, wind resistance, and gravel pad requirements
• Any additional details the permit reviewer will reasonably expect for a non-foundation container structure
AutoCAD, Revit, or similar native files plus a stamped PDF set will be required. Coordinate closely with me for any clarifications; rapid iteration is appreciated so I can file the permit without delay. The City cannot issue any advance payments, so progress payments will be released only as agreed milestones are met.
