Modern 4-Bedroom Home Design
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Scope of Work Requested
I am seeking architectural collaboration to refine and possibly expand on a completed schematic and partially developed construction set for a one-story, barn-style home using AutoCAD or something similar. My goal is to maintain the strong, clean barn aesthetic while enhancing material selections, detail accuracy, and constructability.
I would like your help with the following:
1.
Design Refinement
Review and enhance the existing floor plan and exterior elevations (PDF/CAD available).
Ensure all design elements align architecturally, particularly where roofing, porch columns, window trims, and materials intersect.
Make suggestions for improving spatial efficiency, flow, and potential resale value while keeping the current footprint (unless minor expansion is justified).
2.
Material & Finish Recommendations
Provide a curated list of materials with suggested manufacturers, performance notes, and visual compatibility:
Vertical siding (black/charcoal, durable, low-maintenance)
Stone veneer or masonry options for base
Natural wood trim accents (e.g., around windows, columns)
Roofing (gable roof — compatible with barn-style)
Windows and exterior doors (cost-effective but clean-lined and modern rustic)
Soffits, fascia, and porch finishes
Include recommendations for energy-efficient or budget-smart upgrades (e.g., insulation types, siding alternatives, roof ventilation options).
3.
Architectural Details & Enhancements
Provide section details where siding meets stone base with brick ledge (we are already preparing a separate footing/ledge plan).
Consider minor layout adjustments if they provide better symmetry or curb appeal (without altering major plumbing walls or garage location).
Offer input on potential add-ons such as:
Shed roof overhangs
Timber framing accents
Dormer alternatives or skylights (if beneficial)
4.
Output Requested
Revised construction drawings (floor plan, elevations, and material annotations)
Material schedule (with notes on durability, cost, and aesthetics)
(Optional) 3D conceptual renderings for visualization
Current Design Summary:
Layout: Open-concept living/kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
Garage: Front-facing, 2-car garage offset to the right
Porch: Screened porch at the rear-left
Exterior Style: Barn-style, gable roof, black vertical siding, stone base, natural wood accents
Additional Notes:
You will be collaborating with someone experienced in project management and construction, so communication can be efficient and technically grounded.
